1. 개요
Readlate(이하 "앱")는 사용자의 개인정보를 소중히 여기며, 관련 법령을 준수합니다. 본 개인정보 처리방침은 앱이 수집하는 정보와 그 사용 방법에 대해 설명합니다.
2. 수집하는 정보
2.1 앱이 직접 수집하는 정보
앱은 사용자의 개인정보를 직접 수집하지 않습니다.
- 무료 번역(기기 내 Apple 번역)만 사용하는 한, 전자책 및 문서 파일은 앱 자체 서버로 업로드되지 않습니다. 프리미엄 번역을 사용할 때만 번역 대상 텍스트가 전송되며, 자세한 내용은 2.2의 '프리미엄 번역'을 참조하세요.
- 앱의 Analytics 이벤트에는 문서 본문, 번역문, 파일명, 파일 경로, 검색어 원문, 원본 오류 전문을 전송하지 않습니다.
- 번역 캐시, 읽기 진행 상태 등은 기기 내에 저장됩니다.
- 계정 생성이나 로그인이 필요하지 않습니다.
2.2 제3자 서비스를 통해 수집되는 정보
Apple Translation Framework
- 번역 기능은 Apple Translation Framework를 사용합니다.
- 오프라인 언어팩이 설치된 경우 기기 내에서 번역이 처리됩니다.
- 언어팩이 없는 경우 Apple 서버로 텍스트가 전송될 수 있습니다.

프리미엄 번역 (Readlate 번역 서버 · Google Gemini)
- 프리미엄 번역을 사용하면 번역 대상 문서 텍스트가 Readlate 번역 서버로 전송됩니다. 무료 번역(Apple 번역)만 사용할 때는 전송되지 않습니다.
- 번역 서버는 Google Cloud Run에서 운영되며, 리전은 대한민국(서울, asia-northeast3) 입니다.
- 서버는 받은 텍스트를 Google Gemini API로 전달해 번역 결과를 돌려주는 중계 역할을 합니다. Readlate는 번역 대상 텍스트나 번역 결과를 서버에 저장하지 않으며, 요청 본문을 로그로 남기지 않습니다.
- Readlate가 서버에 보관하는 것은 기기별 사용량 집계(기간별 번역 단어 수)뿐입니다. 이는 사용 한도 관리 목적이며 문서 내용과 무관합니다.
- Readlate는 Gemini API의 유료 등급을 사용합니다. Google은 유료 등급에서 입력·출력을 자사 모델 개선에 사용하지 않는다고 명시하고 있습니다. 자세한 내용은 Gemini API 추가 약관을 참조하세요.
- 부정 사용 방지와 무료 체험 1회 판정을 위해 Apple의 DeviceCheck 토큰을 사용합니다. DeviceCheck는 기기당 2비트만 저장하며 사용자를 식별하지 않습니다.
- 구매 여부 확인에는 Apple의 App Store Server API를 사용합니다.
Firebase Analytics (분석)
- 앱은 Firebase Analytics를 사용해 앱 사용 흐름과 기능 사용 여부를 분석합니다.
- Firebase Analytics는 앱 인스턴스 식별자, 기기 정보, 대략적인 지역, 세션 및 이벤트 데이터를 수집할 수 있습니다.
- Readlate가 기록하는 Analytics 이벤트에는 문서 본문, 번역문, 파일명, 파일 경로, 검색어 원문, 원본 오류 전문을 포함하지 않습니다.

Google AdMob (광고)
- 앱은 Google AdMob을 통해 광고를 표시합니다.
- AdMob은 다음 정보를 수집할 수 있습니다:
- 광고 식별자 (IDFA) - 사용자 동의 시
- 기기 정보 (모델, OS 버전)
- 대략적인 위치 정보 (IP 기반)

3. 앱 추적 투명성 (ATT)
iOS 14.5 이상에서 앱은 맞춤형 광고 제공을 위해 추적 권한을 요청합니다. 이 권한은 선택 사항이며, 거부하더라도 앱의 모든 기능을 사용할 수 있습니다. 거부 시 개인화되지 않은 일반 광고가 표시됩니다.
4. 데이터 저장
- 사용자 문서 파일, 번역 캐시, 읽기 진행 상태, 설정은 사용자 기기에 저장됩니다.
- 앱을 삭제하면 로컬 데이터가 함께 삭제됩니다.
- Readlate는 자체 서버에 사용자 문서 파일을 저장하지 않습니다. 프리미엄 번역에서 전송되는 텍스트도 번역 처리 후 보관하지 않습니다.
- Apple Translation, Google Gemini, Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics는 각 서비스의 개인정보 처리방침과 시스템 정책을 따릅니다.
5. 아동 개인정보
앱은 13세 미만 아동의 개인정보를 의도적으로 수집하지 않습니다.
6. 개인정보 처리방침 변경
본 방침이 변경될 경우 이 페이지를 통해 공지합니다. 중요한 변경 사항은 앱 업데이트 시 안내될 수 있습니다.

Readlate Privacy Policy
Readlate - Books and Foreign Document Translation Reader
1. Overview
Readlate ("the App") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Collected Directly by the App
The App does not directly collect any personal information.
- As long as you use only free translation (on-device Apple Translation), ebook and document files are not uploaded to Readlate-owned servers. Text is sent only when you use Premium Translation — see "Premium Translation" under 2.2.
- Analytics events do not include document body text, translated text, file names, file paths, raw search queries, or raw exception messages.
- Translation cache, reading progress, and settings are stored on your device.
- No account creation or login is required.
2.2 Information Collected Through Third-Party Services
Apple Translation Framework
- The translation feature uses Apple Translation Framework.
- When offline language packs are installed, translation is processed on-device.
- Without language packs, text may be sent to Apple servers for translation.

Premium Translation (Readlate translation server · Google Gemini)
- When you use Premium Translation, the document text to be translated is sent to the Readlate translation server. Nothing is sent when you use free (Apple) translation only.
- The translation server runs on Google Cloud Run in the Republic of Korea (Seoul, asia-northeast3) region.
- The server relays the text to the Google Gemini API and returns the translation. Readlate does not store the source text or the translation on the server, and does not log request bodies.
- The only thing Readlate keeps on the server is a per-device usage counter (translated word count per period), used for quota enforcement. It is unrelated to document content.
- Readlate uses a paid tier of the Gemini API. Google states that on paid tiers it does not use input or output to improve its models. See the Gemini API Additional Terms.
- Apple's DeviceCheck is used to prevent abuse and to determine whether a device has already used its one free trial. DeviceCheck stores only two bits per device and does not identify the user.
- Apple's App Store Server API is used to verify purchases.
Firebase Analytics
- The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage flows and feature usage.
- Firebase Analytics may collect an app instance identifier, device information, approximate region, session data, and event data.
- Readlate Analytics events do not include document body text, translated text, file names, file paths, raw search queries, or raw exception messages.

Google AdMob (Advertising)
- The App displays ads through Google AdMob.
- AdMob may collect the following information:
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) - with user consent
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location (IP-based)
- App usage data

3. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS 14.5 and later, the App requests tracking permission for personalized advertising. This permission is optional, and you can use all features even if you decline. If declined, non-personalized ads will be displayed.
4. Data Storage
- User document files, translation cache, reading progress, and settings are stored on your device.
- Deleting the App will remove local data.
- Readlate does not store user document files on Readlate-owned servers.
- Apple Translation, Google Gemini, Google AdMob, and Firebase Analytics follow their respective privacy policies and system rules.
5. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Policy
Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page. Significant changes may be announced through app updates.
